12 Days Rwanda Uganda Classic Safari : Book this 12 Days Rwanda Uganda Classic Safari and take part in game drives, tracking primates and so much more in both Uganda and Rwanda.

Day 1, Arrival

Our company representative will pick you from kigali and transfer you to Uganda- lake Buyonyi, on arrival you do some nature walk around the lake and get entertainment from local cultural group. Overnight at Acadia cottages.

Day 2, Full day at Lake Bunyonyi

Breakfast will be served early morning and after you will go for the full day boat tour on the lake to different small islands for example punishment island which was name after punishing young girls to death who would get pregnant before marriage, see few different species of animals including otters. The lake has almost 38 small islands and each was named according to the bird species that reside on the island. You will have lunch on one of the Islands and later visit the Pygmy villages for entertainment. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Acadia cottages.

Day 3, Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast you you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park via Kasese and Hoima; you will reach Hoima town in time for lunch. After lunch, proceed to the park where upon arrival, you will go and visit the top of
the falls. This is the most interesting area with in the park. At the top of the falls you will experience the beauty of the mighty river Nile where its waters squeezes its self into a 7 meter gorge deep down over 45metres and hence making a thunderous roar. Transfer to your assigned place of accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at sambya river lodge

Day 4, Game drive and launch cruise

After breakfast early morning, you will go for the game drive in the northern part of the park. The game drive will reward with beautiful and a variety of wildlife in the park such as Elephants, Lions, leopards, buffaloes, Antelopes like bush bucks and water bucks, Kobs, warthogs and so on. Later on you will return to your lodge for lunch as you wait for the afternoon launch cruise along the Albert Nile. During the afternoon launch cruise, look out for water loving animals like crocodile along the river banks, elephants taking water, hippos and many bird species. Return
back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Sambya river lodge

Day 5, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

After a fully served breakfast, you will leave Murchison falls National Park and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park en route, the journey will provide with different scenic views of the great mountains of the moon. You will reach the park with a game drive en route which will offer you with sights of different animals and how they behave at different times. Look out for animals like Elephants, Leopards, Lions and Kobs. You will reach the park headquarters at Mweya in the late afternoon where you will have lunch. Relax while having a small tour around the area. Dinner and overnight at Ihamba safari lodge,

Day 6, Game drive and Launch cruise

After breakfast early morning, you will go for the game drive in Kasenyi area with in the Park, the game drive will reward with beautiful and a variety of wildlife in the park such as Elephants, Lions, leopards, buffaloes, Antelopes like bush bucks and water bucks, Kobs, warthogs and so on. Later on you will return to your lodge for lunch as you wait for the afternoon launch cruise along the Kazinga commonly known as the area with the highest concentration of hippos in Africa. The launch cruise will reward you with views of the most famous water loving animals like
crocodile along the river banks, elephants taking water, hippos and many bird species. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Ihamba safari lodge.

Day 7, Transfer to Ruhengere – Kigali via ishasha for tree climbing lions.

You will set out for the early morning game drive with in the park to search for the early risers and animals you missed out in the previous game drives. Later on have lunch and after transfer to ruhengere via the Ishasha sector commonly known for its rare tree climbing lions. As you pass the area, look out for the rare tree climbing lions in fig trees. Proceed to kyanika which is Uganda Rwanda boarder dinner and an overnight stay at. Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.

Day 8, Gorilla tracking in PNV

On the 8th day of your 12 Days Rwanda Uganda Classic Safari, Breakfast early and drive to Ruhengeri Park head quarters for the briefing. After briefing you will proceed to the gorilla sanctuary to embark on your tracking expedition. Gorilla tracking can be a strenuous activity and depends on physical fitness and movement of the gorillas. When you locate the gorillas spend an hour with them, then return to your lodge. It is advisable to carry packed lunch and plenty of water since gorilla tracking can sometimes be a strenuous activity. Successful trackers will be warded a certificate on return from this fascinating expedition. Dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.

Day 9, golden monkey tracking and Visit the Dian Fossey Grave 

After breakfast at the Lodge,go for golden monkey tracking, later in the afternoon transfer to Karisoke where Dian Fossey, a woman who carried out Comprehensive research about Mountain Gorillas in Africa was buried. At
the spot where she was burried, its also the same spot where she buried her friendly Gorilla which was called Digit. After the trek, you will transfer back to Kigali for dinner and overnight stay Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.

Day 10, Visit the National Museum in Butare and transfer to nyungwe forest.

After breakfast at your lodge , you will transfer to Butare town where there is the Rwanda Natioanl Museum which is one of East Africa’s finniest Ethnographic collection. The Museum displays advanced Artcrafts which are
traditional and also provide insights into pre-colonial lifestyles and also Rwanda’s cultural lifestyles. After this visit you will have lunch and later in the afternoon, you will visit the hots prings in Bugarama.

Day 11, Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe forest and transfer to Lake Kivu

On the 11th day of your 12 Days Rwanda Uganda Classic Safari, Breakfast will be served early morning and after you will proceed to the park headquarters for briefing at 6:00am. Unlike other countries like Uganda where chimpanzee tracking activity starts at 8:00am, here in Nyungwe forest National Park the activity starts at 6:00am. You will enter into the forest when its dark but you will be able to see primate species such as Colobus monkeys, forest birds and later, you will be able to see the chimpanzees when its already day time. Return to your lodge after the tracking for Lunch and in the afternoon, you will transfer to Gisenyi, a town located on the shores of Lake Kivu, enjoy an evening swim with in the lake. Dinner and overnight stay at Bethein hotel.

Day 12, Orphanage tour

After breakfast, you will visit the Ross Carr’s Orphanage and then later travel to Kigali city for a short city tour. You will visit places like the Genocide Memorial sites, Local African markets, handcraft shops and so on, later be transferred to Kigali airport for your flight back home.
