3 days Uganda Gorilla Habituation is the first of its kind and takes you to the incredible Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for three memorable nights with one day of gorilla habituation experience. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is well known for being home to almost a half of the endangered mountain gorillas in the whole world.
It’s a wonderful place where mountain gorillas co-exist with other primates like red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, L’hoests monkeys and many others including the various bird species. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is as well known for gorilla trekking which experiences you in the habitats of the mountain gorillas in one hour. Where gorilla habituation experience is where the endangered mountain gorillas are trained to get used to human presence which takes you four hours.
3 days gorilla habituation experience starts from Kampala, takes you to Uganda’s elusive destination known for the lots of mountain gorillas where you will experience more time with the gorillas in their habitats. With the full itinerary as detailed below,

Day 01: Pick up and Drive Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Detailed Safari
DAY 1: Pickup and drive Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
You will be picked by our driver guide to start your 3 days gorilla habituation experience to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park who will first give you a briefing about the Uganda gorilla safari.
Embark on the way heading to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, where you will have a stopover at Kayabwe for the Equator experience and take pictures. From their you proceed with the journey and have a lunch break in Mbarara town. After then proceed to the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where the gorilla habituation experience takes place in Uganda. This journey is very scenic as you have an opportunity to see the Kigezi rolling hills and valleys as you travel to Kisoro, southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After arriving you check into your lodge for the evening relaxation, and wait to be served with dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2: Gorilla habituation experience.
You will wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast and packed lunch. After you meet with your safari guide and head to the park headquarters to join other clients for briefing about dos and don’ts during gorilla habituation experience. After briefing, you will start your trek into the forest guided by researchers, scientists and guides. Gorilla habituation takes a period of 30 minutes to 6 hours regarding to the location of the mountain gorillas as they keep moving from one place looking for food. During your trek, you may encounter several birds, other animals and primates in the forest and once you have found the gorillas you will spend four hours with them learning their traits and characters. You will have an opportunity to listen and observer researchers doing their work of habituating gorillas and if possible you will be called upon to participate by collecting samples, naming of group members, and among others.
After gorilla habituation, you return back from the beginning at the park headquarters where you be awarded with the gorilla habituation certificates for participating in the activity. And meet up with your safari guide to take you back to the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3: Batwa cultural tour and departure.
Wake up early in the morning and be served with a superb breakfast at the lodge. Meet with you safari guide and go for Batwa cultural tour, meeting the early inhabitants of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
During cultural experience you will interact with the Batwa people as they demonstrate to you how they lived, hunted, made use of the lest expected materials say sticks to make fire, how they collected wild honey and share on their knowledge on the plants and they used for both food and medicine. These people do depend on the forest and had a long time co-existed with various animals and plant life, enjoying their songs, dances.
After Batwa cultural tour, meet with your safari guide and go back to the lodge for checkout and head back to Kampala. Then your safari guide will drop you to your place of convenience.
