3 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari
In this 3 days Uganda gorilla trekking safari, you will trek through Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, an area of 321sq km that boasts one of the oldest forests, lasting over 25,000 years old.
During the trek, you will have the opportunity to trek one of the 12 habituated mountain gorilla groups.
In addition to seeing the gorillas, you will also have the chance to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, and black and white colobus monkeys among others.
This forest is also home to 120 mammals, 51 reptiles, 310 butterfly species, 27 species of frogs, geckos, chameleons, 163 tree species, 104 fern species, 1000 flowering plants, as well as over 350 species of birds such as the hornbills and the Turacos
It takes about 2 to 8 hours to trek with a gorilla, which means that hikers will have a great time climbing up and around the rolling hills and going through the lush vegetation, which makes the trek well worth it.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
The guide will pick you up at 07:00 hrs from the airport/your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala after you have obtained a late morning breakfast at your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala.
In order to prepare for your Uganda safari, you will be given an overview of what to expect before you begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest located in the southwest of Uganda.
On the way, you will also have the opportunity to visit a drum and craft maker community that is located along the way.
Next, you will stop at the Equator for photos, and you can also buy crafts and souvenirs as you travel to Mbarara town, where your lunch will be served.
Afterwards, make your way to Bwindi, where you will arrive in the late afternoon. In the evening, check into the lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest
You will be briefed by the park rangers about what to do and what not to do while in the park, and also you will be divided into eight groups of 8 after an early morning breakfast at the park headquarters. Follow the rangers’ instructions and get started trekking these gentle giants.
It is an amazing and memorable experience to watch mountain gorillas play, eat, and go about their daily activities.
This activity can take 2 hours or even up to 8 hours since its dependent on the location and movement of the gorillas. Also expect to walk long distances in muddy and steep conditions- this will require you to have a walking stick.
During your visit to the gorillas, you will have the opportunity to take pictures of them while you spend an hour with them.
Afterwards, return back to the lodge and you may choose to spend the evening relaxing at the lodge or you can visit the Batwa community which will give you a glimpse of their culture through how they live, dance and also hear stories regarding their culture which will leave you amazed. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Departure back to Kampala
After an early breakfast, you will be departing the “Switzerland of Uganda” behind and starting your journey back to Kampala through rolling hills with terraces. You will also enjoy the rich vegetation of the different areas that you will pass through and it is sure to be a fascinating experience to look at the lush vegetation as you pass through them while on Uganda Gorilla Safari.
The first stop will be at a lunch stop in Mbarara, and the second will be at a drum makers point at Mbambire. Continue on to Kampala where you arrive late in the afternoon after buying some of these drums. In order for you to catch your flight back home, the guide will drop you off at the airport or at the hotel.
