5 Days gorilla and golden monkeys trekking Safari : The itinerary includes tracking gorillas in both Rwanda and Uganda as well as tracking golden monkeys, visiting the Karisoke Research Center, where Dian Fossey conducted her gorilla study, and finishing with a tour of Kigali. The best gorillas are found during the gorilla tracking tour, which visits Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
An Experience Rwanda guide will pick you up from the airport upon arrival and transport you to the park. After checking in, you will go to the hotel or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking (Rwanda).
On the 2nd day of your 5 Days gorilla and golden monkeys trekking Safari, you will be transfered to the park headquarters by 7:30 am for a briefing while fully loaded with your tracking equipment, water, and lunch. After the gorilla family you have been assigned to track, you will then start your gorilla trail. Depending on their movements, it could take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours before you encounter the gentle giants. After visiting the Mountain gorillas, you will have a chance to take pictures with the gentle giants up close before returning to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. To get a sense of Rwanda’s cultural legacy, the evening will be spent on a nature walk or visiting the Iby’Iwacu Heritage Village to experience the Iby’iwacu culture Tours.
Day 3: Golden Monkey tracking / Karisoke Research Center 5 Days Rwanda & Uganda Gorilla Trek.
You will congregate at the park’s headquarters in the morning for a briefing. You may either go golden monkey trekking or climb up to the Karisoke Research Center, which was founded by American primatologist Dian Fossey. Until her death, she devoted her life to protecting the lives of mountain gorillas, and she is buried there next to mountain gorilla Digit. The research facility will teach you more about the mountain gorillas’ way of life. On your way back, you will cross into Uganda and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is where half of the surviving mountain gorillas in the world are found.
Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla trekking (Uganda).
On the 4th day of your 5 Days gorilla and golden monkeys trekking Safari, After breakfast and a briefing from park ranger guides, set off on a 30- to 8-hour trek to see mountain gorillas while crossing slippery slopes and mist-covered foliage. Pack a picnic lunch for the journey. You will ultimately encounter the mountain gorilla, one of the most sought-after animals, as a result of this difficult expedition. Return to the Camp for dinner and the night after spending a full hour with them, observing and learning about their behavior as you snap pictures.
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali.
You’ll eat breakfast in the early morning, then head to Kigali for an interesting tour of the continent’s fastest-growing and cleanest city. You’ll also be escorted to see the memorials to the genocide there (optional). Your driver or guide will then transport you to the airport.
