5 Days Nyungwe & Akagera National Park Tour : This 5 days Rwanda Safari Takes you to some of Rwanda’s Stunning National Parks that is Nyngwe National Park and Akagera National Park where you will do activities such as Chimpanzee trekking, and Rwanda wildlife Safaris among others.

 Day 1: Pickup from Kigali and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Transfer to Nyungwe: After landing at Kigali International Airport, your tour guide from Lakeside Tours and Travel will pick you up. Before making the short trip to the Nyungwe Forest National Park, you will get a quick visit of the Kigali Genocide Memorial Monument. The 218 km (around 5 hours) travel from Kigali city to the park is very straightforward. Moreover, air transfers from Kigali International Airport to Nyungwe are possible if you want to avoid the lengthy drive.

When you get to Nyungwe Forest National Park, check into Nyungwe One & Only Lodge, where you’ll be staying and having dinner (Luxury).

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Chimpanzee Trekking : On the 2nd day of your 5 Days Nyungwe & Akagera National Park Tour , After a leisurely breakfast, proceed to the park’s administrative center at Uwinka, where the senior ranger will give you a briefing and divide you into groups of eight for your journey. Try to be on time and arrive at the Uwinka center by 7am as chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park starts at exactly 8am.

In the Nyungwe Forest National Park, there are about 80 chimpanzees that have been socialized. Other primate species, such as the black-and-white colobus monkey, red-tailed monkey, golden monkey, and other monkey species, may be seen while tracking chimpanzees in the forest. After your excursion to see the chimpanzees, you’ll either eat your lunch from home or go back to your hotel for some well-deserved rest.

Visit the Gisakura tea estate: You can go to the Gisakura Tea Estate later in the evening. You will be guided through the cultivation, harvesting, processing, and packaging of tea at this point. Even the finished product’s wonderful flavor will be available for you to sample.

Later return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Akagera National Park.

On the 3rd day of your 5 Days Nyungwe & Akagera National Park Tour, As you arise, have a relaxed breakfast. After you arrive at your lodge, your guide will pick you up and drive you to Akagera National Park. The national park is located in the Kayonza area of Rwanda’s eastern province. The park is the largest national park in Rwanda with a total area of 1,122 square kilometers. The lion, African Bush elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo are among the most sought-after Big Five Animals of Africa that can only be seen in Akagera National Park, which is also Rwanda’s unique sanctuary for savannah wildlife.

When you get to the park, you’ll check into Ruzizi Tented Camp, or Akagera Game Lodge for dinner and lodging.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Evening Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park.

 Breakfast will be served early in the morning before departing on a morning wildlife drive. Discover the stunning savanna and surroundings of the park. Throughout the park, you will also have the chance to witness wildlife creatures like elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, and waterbucks, to name a few. After lunch, you’ll go back to your lodge and take a brief nap.

Later, set off on a boat trip around Lake Ihema in the evening. You will observe the magnificent wildlife in the park, including Nile crocodiles, hippos, and some water birds like the marabou stork, herons, and the African fish eagle, while on a boat tour. You have the option to embark on a guided nature walk after your boat tour to discover the amazing plant and animal species that Akagera National Park has to offer.

Return back to your lodge for dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Transfer back to Kigali.

On the 5th day of your 5 Days Nyungwe & Akagera National Park Tour, After a pleasant breakfast at your lodge, depart from your lodging and meet your guide for the morning game drive (northern circuit). You’ll go on a morning game drive across Akagera National Park‘s northern circuit or sector. You will have the chance to view wildlife during your game drive that you would not have seen the day before. It may take one to three hours to complete this gaming drive.

After your wildlife drive, your guide will drive you back to Kigali, where you can request that he drop you off at a certain hotel or at the Kigali International Airport so you can check in and catch your flight home.
